Adolescent Health Week

The Adolescent Medicine unit, in collaboration with Project YUVA (Adolescent Health Education Team),
the Department of Paediatrics, and the Department of Paediatric Nursing, celebrated Adolescent Health
Week from October 14 to 19, 2024. This initiative was held under the auspices of the Adolescent Health
Academy (AHA), Vellore Chapter, Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP).

Key participants were Dr. Mona Basker, Professor & Head, Adolescent Medicine, Paediatrics Unit III; Dr.
Reshmi, Assistant Professor, Adolescent Medicine, Paediatrics Unit III; Dr.Vijayarani M, Adolescent
Medicine specialist, Ranipet; Dr. Sripriya M, Adolescent Medicine specialist, ESI Hospital, Vellore; Ms.
Esther Kanthi, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing; Ms. Anandhi, Adolescent Nurse, Department of
Paediatric Nursing; Ms. Sheeba, Psychologist, Paediatrics Unit III; Mr.Daniel Mathew, Project
Co-ordinator along with Mr. Kishorekumar, Ms. Suganya, Mrs. Rajalakshmi, Health Educators, and nursing
students. The team organised health education sessions, skits and role plays on health-related problems
faced by adolescents.

Each session included interactive Q&A segments, fostering engagement and dialogue with the teenagers.
Participants received pamphlets on adolescent health, which were also distributed to teachers and
caretakers.
