Dedication Ceremony of the College of Nursing Building

CMC Vellore Chittoor Campus

The College of Nursing, Christian Medical College Vellore (CMC), Chittoor Campus was established in 2019 and had been functioning in a rental building at Gajulapalle, Gudipala Mandal, Chittoor. The new College of Nursing building, constructed inside the CMC Vellore Chittoor Campus, Cheelapalle was dedicated on October 26, 2024. Dr. Kenny David, the Associate Director of Chittoor Campus welcomed the gathering, Rt. Rev. H. Sharma Nithiyanantham, the Bishop of CSI Vellore Diocese offered the dedication prayer and the Chief Guest, Major General Elizabeth John, Former Additional Director General Military Nursing Service, Office of the DGMS (Army), Ministry of Defence, New Delhi along with the Bishop, inaugurated the building by cutting the ribbon.

An inaugural programme was organised following the dedication prayer, in the multi-purpose hall of the building. Mrs. Nirmala Margaret P, Principal offered a formal welcome address, acknowledging the presence of the administrators of the institution, and faculty, staff, students and alumni of the College of Nursing, CMC Vellore & Chittoor campus. Dr. Vinitha Ravindran, Dean College of Nursing, introduced the Chief Guest. Maj. Gen. Elizabeth John, unveiled the dedication plaque and gave the inaugural address. She appreciated the Architect for the beautiful plan of the building and greeted the students and faculty. She emphasised the importance of Nursing in the health care and appreciated the commitment and dedication of the CMC Vellore in contributing to the health care. Dr. Vikram Mathews, Director, Mrs. Rosaline Jayakaran, Former Principal and Mrs. Alice Sony, Nursing Superintendent offered felicitations. Rev. Dr. Finney Alexander, Head of Chaplaincy shared a short devotion and offered the prayer and benediction. The building provides a global ambience to the nursing students with modern classrooms, well equipped laboratories, good office space and a multi-purpose hall.
